Public Parks

The parks and refuges in northwest Ohio are award-winning, outstanding assets to our community. Lewandowski Engineers is proud of many years of partnership with the Toledo Metroparks. We have surveyed many parcels acquired by the Metroparks as part of the Oak Openings Corridor to link Oak Openings Preserve and Secor Park in a critical habitat area. We are also proud to be working on the Toledo Riverwalk. This series of projects will transform downtown Toledo with engineered parks on both sides of the Maumee River.

Phase one on the west side of the Maumee River included work to secure the seawall in the downtown area. Lewandowski Engineers provided surveys for the entire length of the downtown region, including 3D surveys of riverbanks. This phase also included transportation analysis.

The Glass City Metropark on the east side of the river includes rehabilitation of industrial land, reconstruction of wetlands, new access to the river for paddlers, facilities including a public-use meeting building, ice skating ribbon, and entertainment areas. This land is adjacent to the Marina District Apartment Complex for which we provided civil engineering and surveys.
