Lewandowski Engineers has been active in the petroleum refining and marketing industry since the firm’s inception in 1916. A review of the records that year finds Ohio Fuel Gas (Marathon Oil) and Standard Oil (now BP) were among the first clients of Louis Lewandowski, P.E., P.L.S. The list of Oil companies has expanded to include every major marketer in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana over the last 94 years.

Early petroleum marketing project focused on the design and installation of gas pumps to be installed at the corner grocery store. The mid-1920’s found the first sites exclusively dedicated to gas sales which were quickly followed by the familiar two-bay gas and service stations that dominated the urban core.

Today the petroleum marketing goals have come full circle. The corner grocer has now evolved into the 4000 square foot C-store that anchors the corner of major intersections. Lewandowski Engineers provides C-store design services to BP, Barneys, Marathon – Speedway, Shell Oil, Sunoco and True North Energy in three states.
