Lewandowski Engineers is a fourth-generation land survey and civil engineering firm located in the
heart of Toledo’s central business district. Founded in 1916 by Louis Lewandowski, P.E., P.L.S., and his father, Michael, the
business originally designed and developed wastewater treatment and conveyance systems tailored to the region’s glass
manufacturing and oil refining industries. Today, the firm provides services to the residential, commercial and industrial
development community throughout Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Kentucky, and is proud to be a regional leader in ALTA / ACSM
Land Title Surveys.
Lewandowski Engineers has platted 284 commercial, residential and industrial subdivisions containing
8,484 new lots and has performed more than 17,000 staked boundary surveys since 1916. Principals of the firm have served the
local community in both elected and appointed positions as Lucas County Commissioner, County Sanitary Engineer, member of the
Works Progress Administration Technical Advisory Board, president and member of the Lucas County and City of Toledo Board of
Health, president and member of the International Institute, member of the Toledo Regulatory Study Commission, member of the
Board of Trustees of Lourdes College, and Commanding Officer of the Sixth Naval Construction Battalion and engineering
instructor at the University of Toledo. Both John Lewandowski, P.E., P.L.S. and his son Matt have served as Commissioner of
the City of Toledo Plan Commission.
In 2008, Lewandowski Engineers earned EDGE certification from the Ohio Department of Administrative
Services.
